Frequently asked questions

What is Conditioned for?

Conditioned is built for hybrid athletes — people who run and lift — especially those over 40 who need their training to actually adapt to recovery, life stress, and aging. The app proposes a workout and a daily macro target, you log what you actually did, and it explains every adjustment it makes to your next session, the next macro target, and the next week’s plan.

Where are my workouts and meals stored?

On your device, and in your own iCloud private database. Nowhere else. We never see your health data — see the privacy policy for the full picture.

Does Conditioned need Apple Health access?

It’s strongly recommended but not required. With Apple Health access, the app reads your HRV (to demote tempo runs when you’re dipped), body weight (to adjust macros against the actual trend), and workouts (so a Watch-tracked run flows in automatically). Without it, you can still log everything manually and the adaptive engine will work off whatever you log.

Does Conditioned track GPS?

No. Conditioned is not a GPS tracker — your Watch or your running app does that, and we read the result in via Apple Health. When you tap “Start Run,” you’ll see a foreground timer with manual lap splits; when you finish, you confirm the distance and intensity.

How does the subscription work?

Conditioned is $9.99 / month or $79 / year via the App Store, with a 14-day free trial on either tier. The trial is genuinely free — no card charge until day 15, and you can cancel anytime in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. We don’t see your card; Apple handles billing.

How does iPhone ↔ Mac sync work?

Through your iCloud private database via CloudKit. As long as both devices are signed into the same Apple ID and have iCloud Drive enabled, logs you make on one device appear on the other within a minute of foregrounding. We never see this data — sync goes directly through Apple.

What if I don’t have Apple Watch / Apple Health data yet?

You can still use the app fully. The adaptive engine has fallback paths that use your subjective readiness rating instead of HRV, and works off manually-logged weigh-ins when there’s no Apple Health body-mass data. As soon as you start using a Watch, the loop tightens automatically.

How do I edit or delete a logged item?

Open the History tab. Long-press (iPhone) or right-click (Mac) any set, meal, or weigh-in to edit or delete it. Adjustments recompute automatically.

How do I export my data?

CSV export is on the v1.1 roadmap. In the meantime, you can export Apple Health data through Apple’s own Health app (Health → profile → Export All Health Data). For the Conditioned-specific data (your set log, meal log, adjustments), email us if you need a manual export and we’ll work with you.

How do I report a bug?

Email support@iqgllc.com. Tell us your device + iOS / macOS version, your Conditioned version (Settings → About), and what you saw vs. what you expected. If the app crashed, Apple has already collected a crash report via MetricKit — we can usually find it.

Is Conditioned open source?

Not currently.
